I recently had the opportunity to do a Bohemian Braid Hair tutorial for Hung Up Magazine. Hear is my simple step by step guide to doing a boho braid, which is great for mid to long-length hair.
1. Split your hair into a side parting and sweep it across the back of your crown so that it does not continue down the back of your head. Create a section on top of the head and divide into three parts.
2& 3. Begin a French braid by braiding as normal and then taking a forth piece from each side, alternating and joining it with the centre piece. Keep on braiding until you’re in line with the ear.
4. Divide the hair into three separate parts again and begin a normal braid until just past the ear.
5. Once you have gone past the ear, divide the hair in half and begin the fishtail braid by taking thin strips of hair from the outside of the right section. Take it around and over the right section. Then combine it with the left section and repeat it on the left side.
6. Continue with your Fish braid until you achieve your desired length.
7. Secure your braid with a hair-tie. Finally pull sections gently here and there to loosen up the braid slightly.
